Job Description

Program Coordinator II will support undergraduate and graduate programs within the Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism. The Program Coordinator II will ensure the smooth operation of academic programs.

Responsibilities:

Program Coordination:

- Engage on matters related to facility use, the integration of existing curriculum and development of new programming

- Collaborate with administration of undergraduate and graduate programs, including provision of inputs to faculty on TAMU policies and deadlines and report creation.

- Facilitate and collaborate with leadership for course scheduling, classroom assignments and registration

- Collaborate with leadership in the management of program-specific events, workshops and information sessions.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program-related documentation, databases and records.

- Assist with the updating of the graduate and undergraduate TAMU catalogs

- Coordinate and manage the graduate and undergraduate curriculum assessment program (including legacy programs) as well as facilitate course evaluations, implementing strategies for increased response rates

- Coordinate the graduate and undergraduate fellowship and/or scholarship applications and awards

- Prepare new courses and course changes in curriculum documentation for approval process

- Liaise with faculty, the COALS study abroad representative, and the office of Education Abroad to develop study abroad programs

- Manage TA applications in fall and spring as well as compliance reporting

Student Support and Communication:

- Provide support and guidance to undergraduate and graduate students regarding program requirements, policies and procedures.

- Serve as a point of contact for student inquiries and address their concerns promptly and effectively.

- Assist in maintaining regular communication with students through various channels, including email, newsletters, Sway and online platforms.

- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance student engagement and satisfaction within the academic programs.

- Responsible for Thesis/Dissertation Defense announcements

-Other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Four years of related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Ability to provide proactive follow up with inquiries and leads

- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students

- Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of academic program coordination and higher education environment
