The Texas A&M Clinical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) trains and educates students with the latest tools and technology in a simulated clinical environment. The CLRC is essential to the training of medical, nursing, pharmacy, and public health students and practitioners across the state. A staff of educational and clinical experts carefully construct scenarios in a simulated clinical environment designed to expose students to situations they will encounter in practice. The CLRC’s Standardized Patient Program and innovative Teaching Associate Programs are at the forefront of national standards for medical education. Multiple national and international studies have proven the value of simulation in greatly reducing the risk of harm to future patients.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Program Coordinator II P11 (Working Title: BCS Simulation Program Coordinator) to serve as a member of the Clinical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) team. Job Description Summary: The Texas A&M Health Science Center’s Clinical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) Program Coordinator II P11 (Workday Title) Simulation Program Coordinator (Working Title) is responsible the overall management of simulation and skills events at the Bryan College Station (BCS) campus. The Simulation Program Coordinator, under general supervision, works collaboratively and cooperatively with leadership to plan, develop and implement programs. This position also serves as the super user for the Audio Visual student recording system across all campuses to ensure it functions optimally. The Simulation Program Coordinator ensures customer relationships are developed and maintained in accordance with the TAMU core values (excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect, and selfless service). This position is also responsible for ensuring participants' safety; implementing effective, healthcare simulation standards of best practice; and the accurate and timely completion of administrative actions, financial reports, purchasing actions, and invoicing completed. This staff position reports to the CLRC Site Manager in BCS.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health, project management, or communications related field.
  • One year of program management / events planning or healthcare simulation experience.
  • Three years related experience in simulation, healthcare, EMT/Paramedic, or teaching.
  • Three years related experience in events management / project management.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with standard office equipment: computer, keyboard, multifunctional printer, telephone.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within diverse teams.
  • Ability to effectively and comfortably interact with a faculty, staff, students, and the community. Experience with direct customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, and Google applications.
  • Highly efficient organization and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in post-secondary education.
  • Clinical care equipment.
  • Human Patient Simulators / Medical procedure simulators.
  • Audio / visual equipment, including CCTV technologies, microphones, and Crestron system.
  • Experience with audio/visual software, learning management software and customer resource management software.

Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

  • CHSE - Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and/or medical certification or licensure.
  • CHSOS – Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist.
  • CHSE – Certified Health Simulation Educator.
  • Current (within last five years) healthcare certification or license.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).

Responsibilities:

Logistics Duties:

  • Super user, liaison and lead programmer for the digital audio/video student recording system (currently SimulationIQ).
  • Coordinates and implements simulation and skills events for the campus including planning, setting up, supporting events and tearing down from events.
  • Frequently evaluates incoming event requests and ensure they are addressed from receipt to event completion.
  • Coordinates training classes, workshops, presentations, and quality assurance; provides customer support as appropriate.
  • Participates in on-campus and assigned TeleSim events.
  • Super user for inventory management system and ensure compliance with utilization.
  • Documents job processes for all standardized and assigned work.

Technology Duties:

  • Manages audio/visual recordings for all events, ensures events are scheduled and reviewed through completion of recorded events, troubleshoots issues with A/V system, tracks status of trouble tickets and follows up until completion.
  • Coordinates and supports the use and training for the AV student recording software.
  • Works collaboratively to develop and maintains the inventory tracking software.

Compliance and Collaboration Duties:

  • Ensures standards of best practice are implemented and followed before, during, and after events.
  • Create modify and/or maintain training materials, resources and presentations related to education of health professions skills labs, and other CLRC educational programs with approval from CLRC administration.
  • Maintains the assigned physical space and supplies, as assigned per location.
  • Collaborates with faculty and service lines for training of events on the assigned campus and external sites. Works with the department to assist other associates in preparing for and running events as assigned.
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively with the CLRC team to ensure all events are carried through to completion.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
