The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) seeks a Program Coordinator II to support training and education programs such as Youth Enjoy Science Training in Health Equity, Highlighting Environmental Inequities, & Growing neighborHood Teachers and Students (YES in THE HEIGHTS). The YES in THE HEIGHTS is a dynamic program that includes hands-on summer research internships for high school and undergraduate students, a virtual scientific enrichment program, and workshop development and delivery for public school teachers who are Fellows in Math for America. Our dynamic programs, including YES in THE HEIGHTS, aim to increase the pool of under-represented and under-resourced youth entering STEM fields.
The Program Coordinator II is charged with the logistical side of the many existing and future training and education pathway programs, with a focus on coordination, analysis, evaluation, and enhancement of training and education programs. As a Program Coordinator II, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to empower, diversify, and prepare the next generation of STEM professionals.
Responsibilities
- Program Coordination:
- Onboard program participants, assisting with the completion of all hiring requirements, background checks, medical surveillance, housing, and time sheets.
- Set u payments for external collaborators involved in the program.
- Create the application, disseminate it to partner schools and organizations, and assist in screening applicants.
- Order promotional materials for the program.
- Manage program budgets and Concur.
- Match interns with mentors and collect mentor feedback.
- Aid mentors in onboarding tasks.
- Assist with grant renewal.
- Communication:
- Monitor the shared email inbox.
- Create and send calendar invites and shared calendars.
- Perform exit interviews with participants.
- Update the program websites.
- Surveys and Reports:
- Modify and send out surveys/evaluations to program participants, mentors, and affiliates analyze results, and create comprehensive reports.
- Track outcomes of the program, including monitoring the progress of program alumni and their accomplishments.
- Perform data entry into various systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 3 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
Other Requirements
- Proven experience in program coordination, preferably in educational or research settings.
- Familiarity with cancer research and a passion for promoting diversity in STEM fields.
- Pays close attention to detail, and a high degree of proficiency with computer software (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, project management tools)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives.
