The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, (the Corps) is the largest, oldest, and most visible student organization and leadership training program at Texas A&M University.  It is one of the largest uniformed bodies of students in the nation that produces leaders of character for the public, private and military sectors. The Program Coordinator I, under general direction, assists the Corps' Recruiting Assistant Commandant in carrying out the recruiting mission for the Corps of Cadets. Develops and conducts recruiting programs at high schools, college nights, and other events that have a high potential for reaching prospective cadets; travel is required. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and be able to apply strong organizational and team building skills. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of program administration experience.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must have a Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to high school & college students.
  • Outstanding speaking, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work on the road with limited supervision.

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • This position spends significant time traveling alone on the road attending college recruiting nights across the state.
  • Ability to rent and drive a vehicle, travel, and stay overnight for these recruiting trips is required. 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of Texas A&M who was a member of the Aggie Corps of Cadets. 
  • Prior recruiting or sales experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the Texas A&M admissions process.

Responsibilities:

  • Program/Project Coordinator - Coordinates, schedules, and conducts Corps Recruiting program visits to high schools, college nights, and other events that have a high potential for reaching prospective cadets. Conducts follow up recruiting of prospects identified during visits. Represents the Corps Recruiting Office at the Commandants Calendar meetings. Supports the Commandant or his designated representative during their off-campus recruiting efforts. Provides support for on-campus recruiting programs including individual prospective student appointments, group visits, New Student Conferences, and our formal recruiting programs (Spend the Night with the Corps, Junior Cadet Accessions Program, Aggie Eagle Program, Aggieland Saturday, Spend the Day with the Corps and New Student Conferences). Conduct follow-up recruiting for prospects identified and assigned to this position. Coordinates Aggie Corps Recruiting Program consisting of volunteer Aggie recruiters across the nation.
  • Administrative Support - Maintains records and database of prospective students. Performs administrative functions (prepares letters and reports; answer emails and mail). Submits and completes travel requests.
  • Management and Training - Liaises with and conducts training for the Texas A&M Prospective Student Centers. Conducts training for Aggie Corps Recruiters. Assists in planning and conducting Corps recruiting events. Performs other duties as assigned.
