What you need to know  


Proposed Minimum Salary: Commensurate based on selected hires experience 


Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Two years of experience in program coordination or administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating programs at an institution of higher education or professional school.

  • Experience with research programs.

  • Experience with data collection and program evaluation.

  • Event coordination experience.

  • Experience updating webpages/website for program communications.

  • Knowledge of brand guidelines.

  • Strong organizational skills.

Essential Duties/Tasks

Program Coordinator and Data Compilation:

  • Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings including the Tobacco Cessation Program and the Biomedical Informatics and Behavioral Science Research Program.

  • Organization of program work plans, materials, meetings, activities, data collection, evaluation and Rapid Cycle Quality Improvement efforts, and dissemination 

  • Compiles funded program statistics and produces preliminary reports. Data entry and maintains program records and databases.

  • May assists in identifying funding opportunities to support the dental public health programs.

  • May supervise program staff.

Participate in Program Planning, Implementation and Recruitment:

  • Plans and implements program events such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops for grant trainees, which are undergraduates, dental students and/or faculty. Organization of project materials (including therapeutics such as Nicotine Replacement Therapies), including meeting notes, training materials, trainee applications, and reports. 

  • May assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for funded programs and events such as conferences and webinars. This activity includes researching and obtaining estimates from vendors and submitting invoices and payments. 

  • Plan Continuing Education (CE) course for dental professionals (obtain bids, get contract, create marketing materials, obtain speakers, recruit participants, etc.) 

Supports Department Head:

  • Provides support for projects or programs in the department under the supervision of Dr. Noureldin.

  • Supports research program activities. Maintains records.

  • Provides administrative support for ongoing research projects.

Communication and Training:

  • Collaborates with TAMU Marketing & Communications to ensure consistency of TAMU identity (i.e. Web Services, Social Media, and Branding).

  • Coordinates program website/webpage including communications and marketing for programs such as the Tobacco Cessation Program and the Biomedical Informatics and Behavioral Science Research Program.

  • Marketing (creation of brochures, flyers, email communications, etc.) 

  • May develop and update training materials and deliver training sessions.
