Job Summary: The Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of assigned program.
 

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of related experience

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Supports the design and implementation of courses, conferences, seminars, and meetings for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion
  • Assists in the coordination of special events in accordance with The College of Medicine guidelines
  • Coordinates activities for The Office of Diversity and Inclusion: The Focus Scholars Program (12 months of student classes, mentoring, activities & events); Pre-Med Fellows and Pathway to Medicine Pipeline programs (10 months of enrollment, classes, activities, course grades and assignments); Med Camp (5 months of planning & scheduling, 4 months of document management, selection process and on- site coordination of classes); Research Institute for Woman and Underrepresented Group Symposiums (6 months of planning, scheduling, budgeting and running of the symposiums); and Special Event Planning (12 months- help students plan, budget and implement various Events, i.e. MLK Breakfast, to ensure students comply with TAMU guidelines and regulations.
  • Coordinate student and faculty records to include record retention, office references and resource materials
  • Coordinate and manage program communications and marketing of the different programs supported by the Office of Diversity
  • Assists in the preparation and management of budgets for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion along with student events
  • Assists students with inquiries regarding program offerings and requirements
  • Supports and monitors the program timelines and identifies issues and concerns
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
