The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Program Coordinator to serve as a member of the School of Medicine Office of Admissions team. Job Description Summary: The Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of assigned programs.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Two years of related experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience advising college-level students.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in Management of Early Assurance Programs

  • Assists the Early Assurance Program Manager in the planning and coordination of all Admissions Special Programs such as the Partnership for Primary Care (PPC), the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP), the Pre-Med Fellows Program (PMF), the engineering to Medicine Program (E2M), Science to Medicine, Agriculture to Medicine, Cadet to Military Medicine and Military to Medicine.

Support JAMP Activities

  • Makes logistical arrangements for the special programs application and interview processes, campus tours, JAMP premed symposiums, and JAMP summer internship.

  • Assist with the planning and implementing of the JAMP Mentoring Youth and Exposure to Medicine program and its evaluation.

  • Coordinate and assist with advising special program participants and student organizations.

 

Participate in Recruiting Events

  • Assist with making program presentations at recruitment events and informational sessions.

  • Travel to recruitment events as needed.

  • Communicate and correspond competently and professionally with prospective internal and external constituents.

Support Office of Admissions Tasks

  • Assists the staff of the Office of Admissions with events such as tours, hosting interviewees during interview days, and any other activities or initiatives critical to the operations of the Office of Admissions.

  • May supervise student workers as needed.

Documentation and Website Updating

  • Performs advanced word processing, presentation, and data management; helps maintain information about special programs on the Office of Admissions website.

Other Duties

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
