The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Program Coordinator I to serve as a member of the School of Public Health Epidemiology and Biostatistics Covid Vaccine Study team. Job Description Summary: The Program Coordinator for the COVPN study, under general supervision, supervises, coordinates, and assists with the completion of the COVID Vaccine study. Develops and coordinates program plans through full implementation. Helps coordinate day-to-day operations of the study, site, and staff and will coordinate activities including developing, implementing, tracking budgets, tracking timelines and deliverables, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for programs that are generally small in scope. Works with Project managers and study investigators to follow policies and procedures.




Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • Requires occasional weekend work.
  • Knowledge and experience with RedCap.
  • Works well with team.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • MPH or other Masters degree in a health, public health, or health management field.
  • Two years of experience working on a health-related project or research; Experience performing study procedures, such as consent, recruitment, retention, and follow-up; Experience managing research records and coordinating health-related project activities.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge or experience with project management software and budget management software
  • Health or other scientific background with knowledge on infectious diseases, vaccine preventable diseases, and vaccination strategies.
  • Experience with Health promotion and Health communications techniques
  • Experience managing a research study
  • Experience managing a research cohort
  • Experience with consent, data collection, and/or specimen collection for research


Job Responsibilities

Program oversight and coordination

  • Assist with developing, maintaining and ensuring compliance with procedures and protocols of the CoVPN study program
  • May assist the Project Manager in preparation and monitoring of budgets for program and study-related activitiesCompiles program statistics by tracking and monitoring participant training and certifications
  • Coordinates program resources in conjunction with resource holders and other program coordinators and project managers
  • Works with Project Manager to coordinate problems to find solutions
  • Works with Project Manager to coordinate quality control and assurance

Study-related activities

  • Plans and implements study-related program activities such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings and workshops
  • Responds to inquiries regarding study-related program activities offerings
  • Coordinates study-related program activities communications and marketing
  • Plans and implements study related program activities and assists in their evaluation
  • Liaise with Project manager and Investigators for best practices and to ensure study procedures and protocols
  • Maintain study-related program activities participant tracking
  • Maintain vaccine registry
  • May develop plans for Vaccination clinics and update study-related program materials
  • Assists to develop plans for subject enrollment, recruitment, and retention

Additional research activities

  • Works closely with study Investigators
  • Helps plan and carry out research activities
  • May supervise program staff/student workers (Contact Tracers)
