The Library Innovation Lab (LIL) is a fun, collaborative and productive software lab within the Harvard Law School Library pursuing a broad mission focused on re-envisioning legal information, legal educational resources and library services. As a key member of the LIL team, and working in close collaboration with the Director of LIL, the Program Coordinator provides for the smooth day-to-day flow of operations of LIL and maintains and enhances LIL's administrative relationship with other units across Harvard Law School and Harvard University.

The Program Coordinator will have an active hand and influential voice in shaping LIL's future and helping to define LIL's identity within the Harvard community and beyond.


As the Program Coordinator you will:

  • Serve as the principal administrative contact and liaises with Library administration, HLS/Harvard administrative units, and external partners.

  • Organize, implement, and provide support for administrative systems and procedures for the successful execution of LIL projects.

  • Work with internal and external users of LIL projects including registration, subscription management, and answering/triaging general support and user questions.

  • Monitor budgets, expenses, revenues and maintain related financial documents. Prepare and maintain financial records related to general operating expenses including ordering, requisitions, reimbursements and other activities in conjunction with the Library's Financial Assistant.

  • Research and monitor grant funding opportunities. Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and the administration of grant funds.

  • Gather and maintain data for, and assist in preparing reports related to, LIL projects. This includes preparing statistics and working with a variety of data points.

  • Plan, schedule and execute logistics for meetings, events and conferences, including developing event content and negotiating contracts.

  • Research issues related to development of policies, recommend new or revised policy statements, guidelines and best practices. Advise colleagues and community members as appropriate. Perform other duties as required.

5 or more years of experience in office administration, coordinating projects and/or academic research or related field (business environment and/or customer service). Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
