Job Overview
The College of Medicine, Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences is recruiting a Program Coordinator. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities. The DEPHS is a vibrant department within the College of Medicine with over 50 faculty members and nearly 300 students.
This position will plan, design, evaluate, modify, and coordinate programs for Occupational Medicine Residency program (50%) and assist with program coordination activities for other Departmental graduate programs (50%). This position requires extensive, positive, in-person and online interactions with students, prospective students, faculty, staff, other University entities, and external agencies.
Essential Functions
- Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
- Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
- Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives.
- Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
- Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.
- May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
One (1) year of program coordination experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Proficiency with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MedHub, appropriate Learning Management System(s) and other web-based tools as needed.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as required for the Occupational Medicine Program.
- Social media experience/expertise.
