Description of Work Unit

Founded in 2010, the Office for Inclusive Excellence leads diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at Colorado State University. Our goal is to further develop an environment where all members of the University community are welcomed, valued, and affirmed. We achieve this by focusing on the following areas:
  • Actively support efforts to increase recruitment, retention, and promotion of faculty and staff from historically marginalized and underrepresented populations;
  • Actively support efforts to increase retention and recruitment of students of color from historically marginalized and excluded populations;
  • Build an environment in partnership with other Divisions and Colleges at CSU where students are more culturally competent and have skills to enter into a diverse global workplace;

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator for the Office of Inclusive Excellence is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing student success initiatives (i.e., United in STEMM and MURALS) for First generation, Limited Income and Racially Marginalized students that support undergraduate student retention in collaboration with academic colleges, SDPS offices, and other campus partners. This position is also responsible for serving as a liaison for Colorado State University’s employee resource groups (i.e., Multicultural Staff Faculty Network and Womxn of Color Network) by assisting with organizing programmatic efforts and coordinating feedback to OIE. Additionally, this position must actively embrace and role model Colorado State University’s Principles of Community (inclusion, integrity, respect, service, and social justice).
Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree completed by start date
  • Experience with program development and implementation of student success retention initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience with coordination, planning and facilitation of social justice education programming related to intersectionality, power, privilege, and oppression across multiple identities (i.e. race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, disability, religion, etc.,)
  • Experience working with students and colleagues as an educator, advisor, leader mentor and role model
  • Experience facilitating and training students

Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in related field OR two years full-time professional experience working in related field
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple units/entities and identities
  • Demonstrated ongoing commitment to social justice advocacy at individual group and/or community level
  • Work independently
  • Familiar with STEMM disciplines and undergraduate research processes

  • Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders on and off campus to support student success and faculty/staff
  • Deliver group facilitation and training for student groups and professional staff across campus
  • Develop, lead, and supervise students
  • Develop curriculum and teach a 1-credit course during the fall semester
  • Recruit participants for United in STEMM and MURALS
  • Collaborate with academic and student affairs departments to increase underrepresented student involvement in student success initiatives
