Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The Program Coordinator for the Nurse Anesthesia program at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine will assist the assistant program director with scheduling simulations for the students. Create and monitor all student clinical schedules, maintain and review all student electronic clinical evaluations. Maintain communication with all clinical sites to ensure requirements for clinical rotations are current. Work with the Program Director and Assistant Program Director to ensure that the program complies with the Standards and Guidelines of the Nurse Anesthesia Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficient with MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS Access, MS-Excel, Banner, Blackboard, PeopleSoft, Exam Soft or other computerized testing experience, IMS, ITAMS, on-line applications, Document Imaging System, Office Automation, data base management

Coordinate clinical schedules/rotational activities for all students in the nurse anesthesia program. Complete processing for students to enter the clinical area. Be point person for students and the Graduate School, and provides information for applicants as needed. Manages the screening and logistical aspects of the program’s admissions process.

Ensure students are informed of clinical preparation requirements and that students are completely processed prior to entering clinical rotations. Maintain communication with all clinical sites to ensure requirements for clinical rotations are current. Schedules meetings and program events. Develops and updates student and graduate databases. Facilitates compilation of data on graduates, students, and applicants.

Manages all personnel matters for the program including clinical rotations, providing feedback on student evaluations to assist Assistant Program Director, maintains all students electronic clinical evaluations. Maintains confidential records for faculty, staff, and students. Executes travel authorizations and reimbursement requests by faculty, staff, and student as needed.

Assist in the assessment and improvement of the department’s performance by monitoring performance through data, analyzing data, and monitoring performance improvement plans, in coordination with the Assistant Program and/or Program Director or their designee.

Coordinates program orientation for incoming students to include managing the dissemination of information on student scholarship and loan opportunities, assisting students with log on and navigation in Blackboard, proctoring exams, providing access to classroom space, as well as obtaining IDs and email addresses. Manage and creates all students clinical schedules (daily, monthly, yearly) to ensure all program requirements are being met.

Works closely with the Assistant Program Director to provide the Program Director evaluations each semester. Coordinates all students simulations. Provides Knowledge to the Assistant program Director such as revision of program information, monitors and updates the program website, assures that program publications are current, consistent, and accurate, manages graduation clearance for student, compiles minutes of program faculty/staff meetings, and represents the program at meetings as needed.
