The Residential Education staff at the University of Southern California provides housing and support services for all students living within USC Housing. The Office for Residential Education fosters the holistic development of members within the USC residential community. About the Opportunity:

The Program Coordinator (PC) position is a full-time, live-in professional staff member who plays an integral role in creating a residential experience that encourages student and community engagement within McCarthy Honors Residential College. Program Coordinators are expected to incorporate the mission, vision, and values of Residential Education into their work while at USC.  Under the supervision of a Residential College Coordinator, the Program Coordinator performs a variety of important daily operation tasks including event planning, advising community council, collaborating with Faculty in Residence and ResEd Staff, managing their community’s budget, and serving on department committees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Implement activities/events focused on providing a robust residential experience Regularly assess the events and services to ensure a sense of belonging and connection to USC Advise a community council while supporting the overall mission of RHA (Residential Housing Association) Create and distribute event advertisements through various communication platforms such as email, newsletters, social media, and printed materials Manage social media accounts for the respective residential college or community Manage, track, and reconcile individual expenses and budgets tied to events and activities Maintain individual meetings with your Residential College Coordinator and other Residential Education staff Maintain a weekly work schedule with many weekend and night commitments Other duties as assigned by Residential Education leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Preferred minimum of 1 year post-Bachelor’s work experience within residential life or student life. Combined education/experience as a substitute for minimum experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work effectively with staff and students
  • Live-in required

  • Compensation:
    • The hourly rate for this position is $27.50
    • Furnished 1 bedroom apartment, meal package, and full university benefits
    • A limited amount of training & education funds are available annually

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.91 - $27.50.
