About the School of Information Technology

The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. It is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 19% annually and currently serves more than 1,740 students with 29 full-time faculty members, 22 full-time staff, and 30 part-time faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technology Center.

About the Job

The School of Information Technology seeks to hire a Program Coordinator for Graduate Programs.

 

The principal workload assignment of this position will be to support the graduate programs including students, staff, and faculty. The SoIT offers on campus and online Master and PhD programs, as well as an Integrated Accelerated Master for undergraduate students.  This position is a member of the SoIT Graduate Office and shares responsibilities with this office.


Job Overview

Under general supervision from the Graduate Director and Associate Director – Graduate Programs, the Program Coordinator will coordinate and support all aspects of the SoIT graduate programs.

 

In relation to the graduate programs, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Graduate Admission process for all IT Graduate Programs, managing program events and initiatives, and managing policies and procedures. The selected candidate will also assist with the Early IT program, which is a program designed to provide a solid foundation in essential Information Technology skills for teachers who instruct the SoIT’s first year IT courses in our Early IT program schools.  


Essential Functions
  • Work with faculty to review applications and process admission and scholarship letters.
  • Contribute to information sessions, next step webinars, and orientations.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Work with the CECH and UCO recruiting teams to best market the IT graduate programs. Communicate with prospective graduate students on important deadlines and next steps.
  • Assist with the data collection for SoIT Graduate rankings.
  • This position will require collaborative effort with various personnel across the University, including but not limited to: College advising and recruitment staff, UC Online staff, partner faculty and staff in the accelerated programs, and the UC Graduate College.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.
