Primary Purpose of Position
The Program Coordinator for Family and Supporter Engagement is responsible for coordinating the resources and support available to family and supporter program participants. The Program Coordinator plans and implements communication processes for program units and assists in the daily operations of all family and supporter programs, including oversight of event reservation systems and associated technology. The Program Coordinator also manages community and content management for the 49er Family Hub.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or office management experience in the student services or related field; or equivalent.

Essential Job Duties
  • Provide exceptional customer service to family program participants, including tracking participant engagement, coordinating information distribution within systems, and modifying content to meet participant needs.
  • Manage technology platforms that support program registration for Family Weekend, new family move-in reception, Niner Nation Family Association, Family Council, and other family engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with University departments to solicit and maximize diverse messaging and resource-sharing in 49er Family Hub.
  • Create, share, and interpret data and reports for internal and external partners.
  • Integrate family communications into various technology platforms and work with Associate Director to identify and create messaging to meet immediate needs of programs as they arise.
  • Interpret and make policy-driven decisions within all programs.
  • Make suggestions for policy adaptations and work with Divisional Director and Associate Director to revise and distribute policies to all relevant constituents annually.
  • Supervise Family Program Assistants and graduate assistants as applicable.
  • Serve as primary contact with Athletics, Advancement, and Alumni Affairs on major-event development, providing timely, thorough information to support all family questions related to programming.
  • Serve as primary PCI Compliance officer within unit, leading all transaction, reconciliation, purchasing, and disbursement processes for unit.

  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Formal or specialized customer service training.
  • Ability to learn new and specific technologies to support office operations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar.
