The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Program Coordinator to serve as a member of the Evaluation and Assessment team. Qualifications

Required Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of related experience.

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience in Higher Education or medical education experience.
  • Experience with exam building software.
  • Experience maintaining program records and databases.
  • Experience working with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience coordinating processes and logistics.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Attention to detail.


Job Responsibilities

NBME Exam Ordering:

  • Orders exam from the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) for courses and phases.
  • Serves as main point of contact with NBME.
  • Coordinates with Academic Affairs coordinators regarding exam proctoring, room assignments, exam scheduling, and any other logistics pertaining to exam ordering.
  • Facilitates uploading of NBME exam results into Oasis.
  • May compile basic program statistics.
  • Maintains program records and databases.
  • Plans and implements processes and assists in their evaluation.
  • May assist in preparation and monitoring of costs associated with programs and events

Exam Building:

  • Builds blueprints for NBME exam questions on the NBME website, meets with faculty to finalize NBME exam questions, and communicates final content to the program coordinator for the Academic Affairs team.
  • Manages writing, editing, and revision and building of exams.
  • Supports the Question Review Committee (QRC) and makes necessary edits to exam software.
  • Provides quality control and management of multiple-choice question bank and exam process. Builds and manages remediation exams

Coordinate Exam Preparation with Faculty:

  • Plans and implements program events such as course exam planning meetings (which includes incorporating NBME exam questions).
  • Coordinates program communications, including past exam content, and meeting schedules.
  • Serves as a liaison to Academic Affairs and faculty responsible for participating in the exam building process.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings and attends meetings to obtain necessary exam related information.
  • May develop and update training materials and deliver training/guidance sessions. Maintains confidentiality of exam content

Other Duties:

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Other Requirements:

  • This position may require periodic travel to other Texas A&M campuses and sites.

  • This position may be located in Bryan, Round Rock, or Houston.
