Program Coordinator

Position Summary

The role of the Program Coordinator is to ensure the success of two synergistic large-scale five-year projects ((a funded NSF-NRT (Graduate Training Program) and a DOE-MMICC center (Mathematical Multifaceted Integrated Capability Center)).  The responsibilities of the coordinator will be equally split between the two centers.  The Program Coordinator will have major responsibilities for developing and implementing the programs in both projects.

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of the NRT graduate training program to manage all aspects of the program, which supports research training that combines novel machine learning techniques with traditional computer simulations and high-performance computing. Key tasks include coordinating NRT activities including advertising, student application and admission, website management, evaluation logistics, internship coordination, and annual reports.

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of the CHaRMNET (Center for Hierarchial and Robust Modeling of Non-Equilibrium Transport) MMICC center to manage all aspects of the program, which supports research on addressing a key fundamental mathematical challenge of computing, the Curse of Dimensionality. As with the NRT, research involves novel machine learning techniques with traditional computer simulations and high-performance computing. Key tasks include coordinating MMICC's activities including meetings & workshops, website management, coordinating student & postdoc recruitment, working with the director to identify internships at the national labs and annual reports.

Frequent, well-organized and detailed communication with both Directors is expected.
