Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Affairs at SIPA's Picker Center for Executive Education, the Program Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Director in delivering targeted and effective student services to the 180+ students in the Center's Executive MPA Program. S/he will partner closely with the Assistant Director of Student Affairs to implement School-wide policies and best practices in the areas of Student Affairs and Career Services. The incumbent will also be deployed to assist with programming, event coordination and financial administration for the Center's executive education programs.
Acts as the first responder for student inquiries and requests, ensuring clear communication with students regarding policies and procedures. Triages, redirects and escalates exceptional cases and inquiries requiring major policy interpretation to the Assistant Director and to other offices as appropriate.
Works closely with the Assistant Director on academic and student life programming, including speaker series, lunchtime events, career panels, graduation receptions, and other special events. Assists in planning the Orientation for the EMPA Program and the development of additional new student programming.
Acts as the primary point of contact for students on registration processes and course selection. Duties include assisting students with registration, advising over 180 students on administrative and financial aid matters, and providing detailed and program-specific information on policies, requirements, deadlines, etc.
Acts as the administrative advisor to the EMPA Student Government Organization and oversees their elections and programming. Collaborates with EMPA representatives on SIPA-wide student groups and organizations.
Coordinates planning with the EMPA alumni organization, maintains alumni files, and supports alumni-sponsored events through the EMPA Forum. Works with the SIPA Alumni Office on programming.
Prepares student files for auditing and certification for graduation.
Works closely with the Assistant Director of Student Affairs in forecasting expenses and researching and reconciling program expenses.
Works with the Center's Assistant Director of Finance and Administration and the Manager of Executive Education and Training on programming, event coordination and financial administration for the Center's executive education programs. .
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented and a self-starter who takes initiative and is able to anticipate and prioritize tasks. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently, as well as within teams. Must have the ability to direct, evaluate and supervise the work of assigned student employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Internet utilization required. Some evenings and weekly Saturdays during the academic year are necessary.
Advanced degree desirable. Experience in higher education preferred.
