The BU Center for Innovation in Social Work and Health seeks a full-time Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative, financial, programming, and event planning support for a high-profile, high-performing Center. Duties include financial data entry, meeting coordination, event planning, scheduling, travel and other logistics, and professional-level communications with team members, partners, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in meeting planning and event coordination, providing administrative and financial reporting support, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously. 

Essential Functions

  • Provides administrative support, travel logistics, event planning, and financial data entry to support the Center.
  • Supports daily operations through collaboration with Director, Executive Director, Core Directors, PIs, project leaders, staff, and fellows.
  • Applies professional standards and best practices in project management and team coordination to perform duties.
  • Works closely with IT, Facilities, and Telephone personnel to manage the needs of the Center.
  • Acts as a resource to update and support the Centers policies and procedures in providing high-level operational and strategic support.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems within areas of responsibility.
  • Consults relevant documentation and liaises with appropriate resources to obtain and provide information on diverse and complex issues.
  • Takes initiative to complete open tasks.
  • Stays current on University policies and procedures, and provides internal communication and training as needed.
  • Builds and develops relationships with all staff for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness of operations.
  • Supports new operational strategies and special projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, event planning, hospitality, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in event coordination and administration.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional and polished demeanor.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Google Suite, Concur, SAP, Asana, Fellow, Otter, Zoom, project management tools, and other technology to ensure the execution of deliverables.
  • Openness to feedback and continuous learning.
