Georgetown’s Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) is home more than 900 trainees studying in a variety of PhD, master’s, certificate, and postdoctoral programs in interdisciplinary basic and translational biomedical science, health science, data informatics, policy, and ethics, and industry science.

Job Overview

The Program Coordinator supports the academic, instructional, student life, admissions and administrative aspects of the BGE graduate programs - MS in Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences, MS in Systems Medicine, and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology.

They are responsible for the coordination of more than 60 graduate students across the programs - for example, assisting with recruitment, supporting admissions, monitoring the academic progress of all graduate students in the programs listed above; and monitoring merit-based aid, alumni and career services outreach efforts and program administration, including faculty and program support, and organizing special events for program purposes.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting directly to all the Directors of Graduate Studies for the 3 programs, the Program Coordinator works closely with the BGE, including admissions, student services, recruitment and career services, and communications, Office of the Registrar, and Office of Global Services.

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 to 3 years of academic administration experience - preferably in the biomedical sciences field
  • Demonstrable administrative and computer experience
  • Experience in database management, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Supervisory and management skills
  • Ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information
