Coordinates and provides administrative support to an ongoing program at the University.

  • Coordinates program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
  • Participates in planning and developing methods for program implementation and administration; coordinates program activities.
  • Reviews records and reports of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objective; recommends modifications to methods or procedures as required to redirect activities and ensure that objective is attained.
  • Prepares recurring program reports for management use.
  • May participate in preparing grant proposals to state and federal agencies and private foundations.
  • May participate in budget planning and preparation and assist in controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations for the program.
  • May conduct formal training or instruction in a classroom setting.
  • Interacts with faculty, staff and students to promote the goals and objective of the program.

    The St. Elmo Brady STEM Academy Program Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations and development of the prestigious program, dedicated to advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education among minority students. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in coordinating activities, fostering collaboration, and enhancing program effectiveness. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling, resource management, and troubleshooting. 
    • Lead weekly staff meetings to ensure effective communication and support among team members. 
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and refine STEM curriculum aligned with educational standards. 
    • Manage program supplies and inventory to ensure smooth functioning and resource efficiency. 
    • Conduct professional development training sessions to enhance staff expertise in STEM education. 
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools and organizations to enrich program engagement. 
    • Foster collaboration with teachers, schools, professors, and departments to support STEM education. 
    • Collect, analyze, and organize research data to inform program improvements and decision-making. 
    • Plan and coordinate an annual STEM showcase to highlight student achievements and projects. 
    • Collaborate with the parent liaison to enhance parent engagement and involvement in the program. 

     

    Qualifications

     

    High school and No experience

    Education: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Experience: No experience required

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • Proven experience in program coordination or management, preferably in STEM education.
    • Strong knowledge of STEM curriculum development and best practices. 
    • Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
    • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and utilization for decision-making. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. 
    • Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
