Occupational Summary and Work Performed:

Make operational and programmatic decisions that impact the successful development , accreditation, financing, coordination and implementation of Duke Anes thesiology CME Conferences and Community Activities, as well as other Duke Anesthesiology CME Activities as assigned

Coordinate visits for invited presenters (EG/Departmental Grand Rounds and Critical Care Grand Rounds)

Complete CME application for Gra nd Rounds,monitor/maintain attendance codes, record attendance in CME 

Communicate and provide updates regularly with course faculty, guest faculty, third-party meeting 

management company (if applicable), professional associations, sponsors/exhibitor s, hotel management etc. throughout the course lifecycle

Research, evaluate and select venues for educational cour ses (EG/ACES symposium). Work closely with the hotel vendors for all log istics including meeting space requirements, AV electrical, room blocks etc.


Provide operational oversight for virt ual and in person events (EG/ACES symposium, and other online educationa l programs and products such as Education Highway, FDS,etc.

 Assist VC of Education in components of ACES program coo rdination including liaison with residency director and residency office

Create in inpatient pain service scheduling alongside of Executive VP for faculty, and APPs.  Coordinating schedules around time, holiday schedules, and administrate time.


Maintain schedule in QGenda for interns, residents, and fellows .

Assist with Executive VP and Vice Chair of E ducation’s calendar, meeting and emails.  

Perform other related duties incidental to the work d escripted herein.

General administrative support for Executive VP and VC of Education to include calendar and meeting management, travel, and meeting preparation.


Education/Training

Work requires analyti cal, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires three years of experience in program ad ministration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activiti es to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills

Ability to provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting standards and monitoring performance .

Skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.

Skills evaluating program performance, summarizing findings, communicating results, and forming an action plan.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.


Minimum Qualifications
Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.


Experience

Work requires three years of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
