Program Coordinator Job Description 

Work Performed 

Provided support and coordination for the Department of Pediatrics Faculty Programs as well as coordination for the Department of Pediatrics’ EDI initiatives. 

· Plan, coordinate and administer activities of the Pediatric Leadership Development Series and Faculty Wellness Program with physician and PhD leadership, to include developing, implementing, and supervising activities, seminars, conferences, workshops, short courses, and other related programs; coordinate new ideas and concepts for program themes, presentations, materials and resources to supplement, expand or replace existing program components. 

· Faculty Recognition and Equity - develop, implement and monitor the departmental faculty recognition and awards (both internal Duke and non-Duke opportunities to highlight and build reputation of faculty and department. 

· Plan, coordinate and administer activities for the Vice Chair of EDI to continue the mission of dismantling racism within the department, the School of Medicine, institution and community. Support the VC of EDI in efforts to recruitment and retain outstanding diverse talent and advancing education and training to support an Anti-Racist Workforce. 

· Manage the EDI VC meetings/agendas and appointments. 

· Manage the faculty programs/VC for Faculty meetings/agendas and appointments. 

· Manage faculty mentoring initiatives with VC for Faculty, working closely with division chiefs, mentors, and mentees. 

· Responsible for reports (operations and financial) to access and share with appropriate faculty development team to include managing equity reports (demographics, academic promotion and tenure, leadership roles, etc.) 

· Other Duties as Assigned 

Minimum Education/Training Job Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 

Minimum Experience Job Requirements: 

Work requires three years of experience in program administration or involving academic (education or research) activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. 

Job Skill Requirements:

Ability to take direction and feedback for program development, including setting standards and monitoring performance. Skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems. Skills coordinating program processes, findings, communicating results and forming an action plan. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Minimum Qualifications
Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires one year of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
