Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill.

Position Summary
This position is located in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE) whose mission is to educate future leaders and advance patient-centered care through innovative, progressive pharmacy practice and scholarship. The Program Associate reports to the Director of the Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Community- based Pharmacy Residency Program (CPRP). The Program Associate will serve as an initial point of contact for administrative operations of the PGY1 CPRP and its associated fellowship program. The Program Associate will work closely with faculty, staff, and trainees to ensure success for individuals and the program. The Program Associate will help manage day-to-day operations and programmatic initiatives for the PACE Division.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Highly organized, detail-oriented, adept at problem-solving and can demonstrate critical thinking. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate openly, frankly and respectfully and work well with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and activities. Ability to work as part of the team contributing to team efforts. A desire to learn and a commitment to excellence. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The preferred candidate would have 3-5 years of work experience & 5 or more years of work experience in a fast-paced, healthcare environment. Knowledge of community-based or outpatient pharmacy practice is ideal. Previous experience with managing records and ensuring compliance with accreditation or practice standards would be helpful. The preferred candidate has a track record that exemplifies personal growth, experienced by completion of training programs or achievement of professional certifications.
