Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision perform a variety of duties in support of the Office of Admissions to meet the desired outcome of Enrollment Management as well as the strategic goals of the University and the department. The primary responsibilities for the Program Assistant include maintaining a wide variety of student records, both electronic and manual recordkeeping/filing systems; responding to inquiries from students, staff, and the public; mailing various materials to students and prospective students; and assisting with clerical projects. Under general supervision, review, and process undergraduate applications for admission. With delegated authority, admit or deny student admission based upon evaluations of academic credentials. Always maintain and ensure a confidential environment.

Upon successful completion of the employee’s 6-month probationary period and training, this position may be eligible for a hybrid telework agreement.  All telework agreements are assessed and extended on a semester basis.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the admissions process.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.

  • Experience with WSU Student Information System.

  • Experience with Slate CRM.

  • Experience working with student records.

Monthly Salary:

Range 37 | $3,145 to $4,174 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
