Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | 2 Positions Available: The Program Assistant will assist with two research studies, including one currently funded by the NIDDK and one funded by the NHLBI. These studies examine the impact of dietary interventions on body weight and other chronic disease risk factors for an all African American study population or examine a mobile health intervention for weight loss. The Program Assistant will assist with organizing all study-related team meetings to include recording and distributing meeting minutes. The Program Assistant will also attend intervention classes, record research study participant attendance and engagement, conduct outreach calls with participants, and take notes during meetings. This employee will help coordinate assessments for participants and help conduct participant recruitment activities. The Program Assistant will also assist with recruiting USC student research assistants and volunteers. The Program Assistant will work closely with other team members on intervention and data collection related activities. Availability on Monday evenings for intervention classes is required. |

Required Education and Experience | High school diploma and 1 or more years of experience. |
Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in business. public health, psychology, or other related area and 1 year experience in an administrative assistant or clerical role. Experience assisting with clinical/behavioral research studies or healthy lifestyle programs in community or university settings. Experience with administrative duties related to conducting dietary intervention trials or healthy eating and active living programs. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Expertise in Microsoft, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in community relations and customer satisfaction. Experience with data management and record keeping. Great attention to detail. Knowledgeable in health and wellness via nutrition, physical activity, and stress management. |

Job Duty | Attending all weekly team meetings and weekly sub-team meetings to record and distribute meeting minutes (record updates from each team member and details regarding the timeline of next steps) and weekly planning/work updates meetings with the Project Manager. |
