Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Assistant for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute within the Division of Continuing Studies.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Instructor/Classroom Support:
  • Works independently to connect with instructors (100 + per semester) to deliver their continuing education programs via remote instruction (Zoom)
  • Assists with technological needs of instructors and provides solutions to enhance the diverse online learning needs of the students
  • Advises instructors on best practices to deliver media via remote instruction and supports instructors in implementing critical changes for a successful distance learning environment
  • Assist in evaluating technology implementation effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement

Program Support:
  • Troubleshoot financial transactions in ANCOR and Nel Net.
  • Work with a noncredit student population (1800+) to follow-up on financial transactions, provide customer service assistance to noncredit students navigating registration and payment system.
  • Provide administrative support to entire OLLI team as needed via returning emails and voicemails, creating spreadsheets and other tasks as assigned by Director

Facilitate Hybrid Learning Environments:
  • Collection of data and surveying current OLLI students and instructors.
  • Serve as a key OLLI team member to DoCS IT to implement NEXUS platform for the OLLI Community.
  • Serve as the primary train the trainer to instructors (100 +) to move their noncredit programs to the NEXUS platform as part of hybrid learning for OLLIRU.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree

Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with the aging population, preferable in an instructional capacity delivery enrichment programs.
  • Proficiency/mastery of ANCOR and working knowledge of payment systems like School Pay.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to master ANCOR and payment systems such as School Pay
  • Knowledge and mastery of Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
  • Knowledge and mastery of Zoom platform.
  • Advanced knowledge of Zoom and WebEx (instructional delivery tools).
  • Knowledge of video streaming and content sharing via web conference.
  • Knowledge of mobile and desktop devices to access web conferencing.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
  • Effectively communicates technical information to a non-technical audience and establish cooperative working relationships.
  • Disseminates and shares ideas and information with team.
