Earth and Space Sciences has an excellent opportunity for a Program Assistant with the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN). The PNSN is the authoritative source for seismic data and earthquake information in the region.  Using real-time data from over 500 seismic stations throughout the states of Washington and Oregon, PNSN produces a variety of information products for seismic hazard awareness and risk reduction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the daily operation of the PNSN within Earth and Space Sciences.
• Administrative Support:
• Assist in the preparation and editing of proposals and reports.
• Establish and maintain records and files, most digital but some hard copies.
• Attend meetings and/or conferences as a PNSN representative.
• Maintain the general PNSN calendar of events.  Perform complex scheduling tasks including independently prioritizing needs of the PNSN.
• Schedule meetings internally as well as with external partners.  Coordinate arrangements including creating agenda and notetaking for program activities such as meetings, conferences, and banquets
• Order, receive, and maintain some inventory in the PNSN office and field labs.
• Use word processing, graphics, statistical, spreadsheets and/or database software. Use graphics software and make recommendations regarding the appropriate display of graphic information.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time experience OR equivalent education/experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in providing administrative support, overseeing and executing office operations.
• Experience working with a diverse population.
• Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Google applications.
• Excellent organizational skills

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Experience with using graphics in reports and websites.
• Knowledge of UW systems Ariba and Workday.
