Minimum Qualifications

HS or GED and six months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade NB Wage minimum $14.75/hr

Preferred Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at U of L as an upper-level undergraduate or Graduate program. 

At least one year experience in a University Housing role or the equivalent.

Position Description

Two Positions Available

The Hall Director (80% FTE 30 hours a week position) is responsible for management of a residence hall consisting of under 400 beds. They handle programming and development within the hall, handle student discipline and supervise 6-11 student Resident Assistants. They serve in an on-call staff rotation, providing crisis management. They serve on university and departmental committees.

During the summer term, the Hall Director assists in managing the summer term residents and summer conference programs.

Residence hall management Assist in overseeing the residence life operations in the residence hall, on-call staff, and policy enforcement. Reporting to Assistant Director, management of a residence hall consisting of under 400 beds. Assist with the facilities staff to ensure the building remains well-maintained and clean. ?

Staff supervision, selection, and training Supervise the building's student 6-11 Resident Assistants.

Community development Assist in implementation of the Resident Curriculum and LLC programmatic needs, using campus partners and student staff. This includes programs, bulletin boards, Cardinal Calls, and Cardinal Connections.

On-call and crisis management Serve in a 2nd tier staff on-call rotation, and utilize the consult on call program when needed for more higher level support. Manage emergencies to keep communities and community members safe. Handle student discipline

Assist in conduct cases that are of a 1st tier nature.

General responsibilities Serve on departmental and university committees. Support departmental events.
