The Program Assistant is responsible for essential duties that are imperative to the Football operations division of the Football program. This position will plan, organize and direct activities that are necessary for the administration of the program. Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and/or date entry applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements or Other Factors

  • Ability to use discretion with visitors to determine the validity of their needs within the Bright Complex..
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays as required to complete assigned duty.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years in customer service experience.
  • Some security or access limiting experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of EZ Lobby tracking system.
  • Knowledge of control view video surveillance system.

Responsibilities:

Security - Oversees security operations at BFC for Football Operations Program, to include:

  • Monitors video cameras located in and around the Bright Football Complex (BFC) Monitor access of visitors.
  • Maintains security of the BFC; deters unauthorized persons form entering prohibited areas; closes and locks doors and reports emergency conditions.
  • Operates EZ Lobby tracking system to monitor visitors in the BFC.
  • Discretely contacts Football Coaching Staff (24), Equipment Staff (4), Athletic Training Staff(15), Coaches Video (3), Academic Staff (25) to notify them of visitors and the reason for their visit.

Customer Service:

  • Receives and directs visitors; answers routine questions by general public. Uses discretion to determine validity of their need for additional access within the building.
  • Oversee High School Coaches Ticket Request Procedures (setup & website management, software management, granting process, ticketing communication)
  • NFL Personnel point of contact for all practices and scrimmages.
  • On-campus transportation parking liaison (student athlete parking requests, ticket/fine issues, purchasing/distribution of daily guest parking passes)

Football Program Support - Performs essential duties related to the success of the overall TAMU football program operations, including:

  • Special Events: Plan, manage and actualize logistics for Football Family Tailgate, Big Event, Dinner with the Corps, Fan Day and Aggie Ring Day. Oversee Hagner Auditorium scheduling calendar. Assist football staff with all aspects of event planning and execution, as it relates to customer service, as required.
  • Football Student-Athlete Liaison: Procurement of Compliance Requirements:  Initiate Bid Process & Manage Scheduling & Communication around Football Team's Custom Suits, Transportation Parking Liaison, and Player Guest Tickets
  • Building Maintenance: Assists building proctor of the Bright Football Complex with scheduling maintenance work to be done in the building.

Compliance:

  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised and performs other duties as assigned.
