The office is also responsible for recruiting and enrollment of an academically prepared student body that is geographically, ethnically and economically diverse. In addition, Admissions also offers several opportunities for prospective students and their families to visit campus throughout the year to learn about the rich traditions and culture of Texas A&M University.

What you need to know

Hourly Rate: $18.00/hour

Position Details : This is a temporary, part-time position; approximately 19 hours per week.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of admissions related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Experience:

  • Working experience with youth and ethnically diverse military populations, admissions, recruitment or higher education

Job Responsibilities

  • Counseling & Transcript Review - Counsels current student veterans on various academic issues and directs them to the appropriate resources. Assists in the review of military admissions applications. Researches, evaluates and analyzes military and other institutional transcripts for potential credit. Serves as liaison to colleges and departments for transfer applicants with extenuating circumstances.
  • Administrative & Communication - Provides office support. Serves as first point of contact for walk-ins. Disseminates military related admissions information. Provides specialized admissions information. Performs other duties as assigned.
