The School of Dentistry is looking for a Program Assistant to serve as a member of the department of Comprehensive Dentistry. What you need to know

Salary range: $17.50/hour

Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm. 


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and with minimal errors

  • Attention to detail

  • Bilingual

  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Program by scheduling patients for D1 - D4 dental students within their group by phone or in person in accordance with prescribed guidelines. 

  • Confers with patients regarding current charges for procedures.

  • Documents all patient communication on the electronic appointment request and as needed, in the electronic health record.

  • Documents in the electronic health record all no show and cancelled appointments.

  • Determines the need for contact, warning and close out letters.

  • Ensures appropriate documentation should be added to the electronic health record and electronic appointment request and request made for the letters to be created and mailed.

  • Tracks and monitor patient response to letters.

  • Plans and prepares conference documentation for monthly program conferences with group leaders/assistant group leaders.

  • Completes daily confirmations for assigned group.

  • Maintains attendance and track student clinic hours. Enter hours weekly into Axium.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
