JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the development and delivery of student academic services programs to students and departmental faculty and staff in a large college or division.
  • Interprets division policies and procedures for division staff and other university administrators.
  • Develops, designs and implements student academic services in conjunction with department and faculty administrators.
  • May advise students of graduation requirements.
  • Develops the content of communications materials to enhance student, staff and faculty awareness of services offered.
  • Responds to inquiries from students, faculty, staff and parents and determines the appropriate resolution to their concerns.
  • Represents the department at meetings.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of office procedures to ensure department is meeting service goals and recommends changes when appropriate.
  • Hires and supervises student employees.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • As a Program Administrator (PA), you'll join the Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health (GDEH) where your primary responsibility will be to coordinate student initiatives for the Environmental Health Sciences PhD program (EHS), that foster supportive community environments, processes, and services that empower students throughout their educational journey. The PA position provides program assistance to the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) on various initiatives to enhance graduate student experiences, including but not limited to, signature events, i.e., New Student Orientation, Admission Interview Week, graduation celebrations, and others within GDEH.
  • Interprets division policies and procedures for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Monitors expenditures, prepares financial reports, and may participate in the budget planning process.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports for the PhD program.
  • Manages student Professional Development Funds (PDS) and tracks graduation completion requirements.
  • This role is part-time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the department's area of specialty or other related field.
  • Five years of experience related to student admissions, financial aid, registration or a related field.
  • Experience with various personal computer software packages.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
