Job Summary

Join our team at Purdue University's Honors College as a Program Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting programming and curriculum within the Academic and International Affairs unit. Work with the leadership team of the academic and international affairs to support curricular programs for honors students in an innovative and dynamic college at Purdue University. The Program Assistant will have opportunities to give input on new program initiatives and interact with a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community in the John Martinson Honors College.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean and faculty leadership to develop and administer programming for Academic and International Affairs.
  • Execute processes for honors contracts, academic planning, and faculty affairs, while tracking program performance and preparing reports to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee administrative and logistical aspects of course delivery, faculty workshops, and study away programs. There is an expectation to serve as a liaison and resource to academic colleges and students on honors contracting as well as Summer Programs and oversee programming in the summer. 
  • Interpret and communicate policies to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations for the Associate Dean, maintaining consistent communication through various platforms in a way consistent with Purdue branding. 
  • Manage faculty recruitment and hiring procedures, along with visiting international scholar appointments. This will involve supporting onboarding and independently developing/ monitoring the evaluation of recruitment strategies. 
  • Actively contribute to increasing student applicants to the Honors College and develop evaluation metrics for recruitment strategies.
  • Assist in general college administration tasks as needed, this position will require occasional evening work.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of relevant work experience; education beyond a bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in higher education or honors programs
