Position Description

The University of South Carolina (USC) is seeking someone who is organized, hard-working, personable, and detail-oriented to serve as the Program Coordinator for Partnerships with University 101 Programs. University 101 Programs is an internationally renowned academic unit that focuses on helping students transition into, through, and out of the University of South Carolina. We offer 6 different courses with a total annual enrollment of close to 7000 students. These courses are taught by over 500 instructors and peer leaders.
This position will manage the departmental partnerships and campus partner presentations in order to ensure high quality educational experiences that support the delivery of University 101 course content. For context, campus partner presentations are developed by University of South Carolina offices and departments, are presented to University 101 classes during class periods, are interactive and encourage student discussion, and are an opportunity for students to learn relevant information about a particular topic from campus offices.
This position will also support information distribution with our key constituents to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant information to 300+ instructors, 300+ Peer Leaders, and campus partners. In addition, this position will support the peer leader program as well as course development for UNIV 201 and UNIV 401.
Preferred candidates will have at least a master’s degree (so that they are eligible to teach courses in our department), knowledge of first-year seminars, and experience working in higher education. The successful candidate will join a talented and experienced department whose work has significant impact on faculty, staff, and students at USC.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching a first-year seminar.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Excellent research/report-writing skills. Demonstrated ability to interact well with different university constituencies, including faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to make sound decisions .

Manage the logistics of campus partner presentations, including the proposal and renewal process, ongoing training opportunities, and technological support for the online scheduling software to ensure high quality presentation options for sections of UNIV 101.

Manage the development of campus partner presentation support materials, including curricular materials for instructors and lesson plans related to campus partner presentation topics by researching best practices to ensure alignment with presentations in order to create high quality materials for instructors.

Conduct formative and summative assessment of campus partner presentations and provide feedback to campus departments based on data collected. This involves working with campus partners to develop questions, managing the surveys in our schedule center software, analyzing data using SPSS, generating custom reports for each office, and creating an improvement plan as necessary.
