Position Description:

The University of Louisville Department of Medicine is seeking a Chief for its Division of Palliative Medicine. The division is dedicated to enhancing and improving the quality of life for individuals dealing with serious and life-limiting illnesses. Our physician faculty, along with an interdisciplinary team (including nurse practitioners, nurse clinicians, chaplains, social workers, and psychologists), provides patient care to the community within a fully integrated academic healthcare system, UofL Health. The division's education mission includes a well-established fellowship program as well as a palliative medicine clerkship which is required for every UofL medical student. The division also houses an established research program supported by national grant funding, focused on interprofessional education in the palliative care se??ng. The division chief will be charged with leading efforts not only to expand palliative medicine, but also to coordinate efforts with colleagues in pain medicine, ethics, and addiction medicine. This initiative is one of many in the department designed to continue to expand its mission and operations throughout the UofL network and its affiliates.
