Job Summary:

The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences has an opening for a part-time Research Professor position. This part-time position will be dependent on the external funding secured by the employee, up to .49 FTE. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until January 31, 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Research on Graduate Teaching instruction, supervision and mentoring and the impact on early undergraduate success, that results.

·         Secures external funding, administer grant operations

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.  

        PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field

        Five Years of Experience as a Tenured Professor in a Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field  

Preferred Qualifications:

        Existing external funding

        Successful record of research

        Evidence of leadership 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

        Expertise in research on Graduate Teaching instruction, supervision and mentoring and the impact on early undergraduate success, that results

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position will be adjusted proportionately, based on the amount of external funding secured, up to a 12 month, 0.49 FTE base salary of $63,790.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
