The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in our Strategy and Business Economics area, intended for placement in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, with an intended start date of July 1, 2023. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY.

 We seek an outstanding scholar with an emerging track record of research in leading academic outlets, especially in the following areas: technology strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or data science. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an impactful program of research relevant to broad societal, economic, and business issues and to communicate results to policymakers and practitioners. Excellent teaching skills are a must.  Seasoned candidates could be eligible for a named professorship if the candidate is able to provide support for the instructional needs of core courses in entrepreneurship and related areas.

Candidates must have a PhD in strategy, economics, data science, or related fields by the time they start in the position. Preferred candidates will demonstrate high standards of accomplishment in research, teaching, and service.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan School). Dyson houses a top-ranked undergraduate business program as well as graduate programs that award Ph.D., M.S. and M.P.S. degrees. Faculty members in the Dyson School frequently collaborate with colleagues in Computer and Information Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Natural Resources, and other units on campus.

The search committee will begin reviewing applications after October 15; the position will remain open until filled.
