The Department of Learning and Leadership at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is seeking to fill a position in the LEAD Programs within the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies. 

This is a twelve-month, full-time Professor of Practice appointment requiring year-round undergraduate and graduate level instruction and support for multi-disciplinary research at the graduate level.

The candidate will be responsible for working in and with the Applied Leadership Bachelor's program and the Leadership Doctoral program(s). This is a unique opportunity to work with distinct competency-based and work-integrated curriculums designed for working professionals at different stages of their education and careers.

In the Applied Leadership undergraduate program, the focus is on supporting access and opportunity for working adults pursuing their bachelor's degree. The candidate will enable the application of leadership concepts to various areas of professional practice.

In the Leadership Doctoral programs, the candidate will work with experienced professionals pursuing their research dissertations and demonstrating scholar-practitioner competencies. Here the focus expands beyond traditional learning theories to transformative concepts that shape human behavior and cognition.

In all programs, the candidate will collaborate with faculty and industry partners to foster a shared, outcomes-based approach to leadership education that bridges academic and professional development. Required and Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in leadership, organizational behavior, psychology, business, or other social sciences from a regionally accredited doctoral granting institution, and will have documented substantial professional experience, preferably in a learning setting/organizational structure. The candidate will have instructional experience with adult-focused programs, subject matter expertise, and professional experience in organizational leadership, adult learning theory, and training. Instructional experience should include face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online modalities. The successful candidate will show evidence of experience and scholarship in one or more of the following areas: leadership theory, measurement, and/or performance improvement. Experience in the use of Learning Management Systems is expected.

The preferred candidate will show evidence, experience, and skill in facilitating learning through instructional technology (synchronous and asynchronous).
