Position Announcement: Clinical Assistant Professor (Hospitality Operations)

Purdue University’s White Lodging- J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor with managerial experience in food and beverage/hospitality operations (9-month AY appointment). This position provides an opportunity to blend a passion for hospitality operational excellence with a desire to develop future generations of hospitality industry leaders. Applicants must have experience with and be committed to excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student engagement. 
 

This individual will oversee the John Purdue Room operations (HTM’s restaurant lab) and have teaching responsibilities for courses related to hospitality operations, such as but not limited to food and beverage management, cost control and analysis, and beverage operations.  The selected individual will also be expected to advise student groups, serve on various committees, and participate in community engagement.

• Applicants must have at least 6 years of hospitality industry experience with a minimum of three to five years of diverse management experience in foodservice, ideally in restaurant operations.
• Prior teaching experience at the community college and/or university level is required, including teaching in an experiential learning environment.
• A master’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or closely related field from an accredited university or culinary school is required at the time of employment.
