Job Overview

The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery, and Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full-time academic cardiac surgeon with experience to join a growing practice. The successful applicant will be provided with competitive salary and benefits.

Essential Functions
  • Evaluate and treat cardiac patients in a clinical setting
  • Conduct patient rounds
  • Perform cardiac surgery, including ventricular assist device implantation, heart transplantation, off pump all-arterial coronary bypass procedures, and aortic arch surgery
  • Teach medical students, general surgery residents and thoracic surgery residents and fellows in the Division of Cardiac Surgery
  • Participate in cardiothoracic research efforts.

Minimum Requirements
  • Prior to effective date of appointment: Medical degree (MD); completion of a five-year cardiovascular surgery residency program; completion of two years of post-graduate cardiac surgery fellowship.
  • 10 years of experience in cardiac surgery, which must have included diagnosing and treating coronary artery disease, aortic arch pathology and treatment of congestive heart failure with heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio medical license.
