Professional Specialist in Law Studies
The Professional Specialist in Legal Studies is a three-year position with the possibility of renewal. The Specialist will be housed in the Program in Law and Public Policy (P*LAW) within the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) and be expected to participate and contribute to the intellectual life of both. 

Reporting directly to the P*LAW Director, responsibilities include: 
*Leading P*LAW undergraduate outreach by participating in Centers/Programs fair, maintaining/developing listserv of interested undergraduates, and engaging other law-related student groups on campus; 
*Administering and helping to select undergraduate Liman Fellows, a program providing summer stipends to undergraduates pursuing full-time public interest law-related work;
*Administering and helping to select undergraduate Cicero Fellows, students who spend a year with the Program helping to support Program workshops and events, and serve as research assistants to visiting law faculty fellows;
*Organizing and hosting training sessions for undergraduate juniors/seniors engaged in law-related research;
*Advising undergraduates on options in undergraduate law-related course studies at SPIA, including clinical training, and on post-graduate legal education and careers;
*Teaching gap-filling law-related courses when needed to support SPIA curriculum (in coordination with the associate dean for academic administration).

The position is ideal for a candidate with experience in law teaching and legal academia, and comes with an additional title of Lecturer if engaged in undergraduate teaching.

Qualifications
Candidates must have: (1) a JD or equivalent (2) experience or interest in law teaching (3) minimum 3 years relevant legal experience since law school or significant professional experience prior to law school.
