Professional Specialist/Clinical Law Fellow

Location: Princeton, NEW JERSEY
The Professional Specialist/Clinical Law Fellow is a one-year position with the possibility of a one-year renewal. The Fellow will be housed in the Program in Law and Public Policy (PLPP) and be expected to participate and contribute to the intellectual life of PLPP. The Fellow will teach an undergraduate course called Making an Exoneree, through a partnership with Georgetown University, and provide assistance to our Policy Advocacy Clinic. 

Reporting directly to the PLPP Director, responsibilities include: 

*Teaching a one-semester, undergraduate criminal law course, "Making an Exoneree," in cooperation with Georgetown University faculty; 
*Supporting the work of the Princeton Policy Advocacy Clinic under the supervision of the clinic director; 
*Contributing to the development of criminal justice initiatives at SPIA;
*Pursuing research and writing on topics related to criminal justice.

The position is ideal for a candidate with an interest in clinical teaching and in the substantive areas of criminal law.

The Fellow will be appointed at the rank of Professional Specialist with the additional title of Lecturer during the teaching semester.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have: (1) a JD or equivalent (2) strong academic record (3) strong criminal law background, as exhibited by significant experience in criminal law (4) experience or interest in teaching (5) minimum 2 years relevant legal experience since law school or significant professional experience prior to law school.
