Position Title: Professional Skills Program Manager

Unit: Non-Unit Professional (NUP) 

Reports To: Assistant Director Workforce Development 

Date: September 2024

The Professional Skills Program Manager is responsible for managing assigned training programs. The Program Manager will ensure compliance with program certification requirements and implement strategies to improve and expand the Center's certification programs, including hybrid and contextualized programs and promote these to prospective students. The Program Manager will also help with continuous improvement strategies to ensure services are efficient, effective, high quality, and student-centered. The Program Manager will help advance the Center's partnership efforts by representing CWD at employer, community, K-12, and other events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Assessment, and Student Success

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for students
  • Support students in a way that is asset-based and stresses equity
  • Develop and executes a recruitment plan to achieve enrollment goals
  • Review and approve applications, ensuring enrolled students meet qualifications and submit required documents
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and other external organizations to identity, create and maintain partner sites for student externships. 
  • Participate in Open Registration activities
  • Conduct presentations at businesses, K-12, nonprofits and others to promote programs and recruit students
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to develop and update recruitment materials
  • Update program flyers and website

Operations

  • Manage day-to-day operations of training programs
  • Create and input program schedules into CWD registration system on a scheduled basis
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate student and program outcomes
  • Interview and recommend instructors for hire
  • Successfully onboard new instructors
  • Evaluate instructors on a scheduled basis
  • Ensure instructors track student attendance and submit grades on time
  • Monitor student attendance and provide referrals to support services as appropriate
  • Ensure program compliance with third-party certification requirements
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and order supplies as needed
  • Conduct walk-throughs of classrooms to ensure they are well-stocked, clean, and safe
  • Maintain updated course descriptions, course outlines, and syllabi
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports
  • Attend campus meetings and serves on committees, as required
  • Keep accurate records following College policies
  • Other duties as assigned

 


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge, experience, and skills in program areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs
  • Passionate about program areas
  • Maintains a positive, proactive, and creative approach to address challenges
  • Three-five years of similar experience successfully implementing workforce development programs, including grant-funded programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds who possess wide ranges of academic abilities and interests.
  • Prior experience in an urban community college setting or with diverse populations.
  • Experience with online and hybrid courses.
  • Bilingual (Preference for Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean-Creole, or Portuguese)
  • Valid Driver's License

 

 


Additional Information:

Compensation (Salary Range): $70,000.00-$75,000.00 (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.  The hours for this position may vary.
