Nature of Work
The School of Education and Human Development, Pathways2Teaching Strives to create a new generation of community-responsive educators as it begins the journey for high school juniors and seniors to become teachers. Students earn transferable college credits toward a teaching degree. The program helps meet the demand for teachers in urban and rural communities and address a lack of diversity in the teacher workforce. The School of Education and Human Development, Pathways2Teaching is offering a part-time Professional Research Assistant (PRA) position to help with the duties of the program.

Examples of Work Performed
Duties at the Faculty Research Support Center vary. Activities to be conducted are not listed based on importance; rather the list conveys the diversity of activities that can potentially occur at the center. The research assistant will assist in:
- Assist with all aspects of managing a growing concurrent enrollment program Data collection & analysis.
- Administering surveys, conducting interviews, transcribing audio recorded interviews, data entry, management & analysis.
- Conduct literature searches and write annotated bibliographies.
- Conduct qualitative analyses of data gathered.
- Generate reports and summaries based on those analyses.
- Dissemination of this work via professional conferences and the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
Support Pathways2Teaching instructors and their students around the country via Zoom.
- Work with a growing team of doctoral students from CU Denver Teacher diversity and / or teacher pipeline programs for students of Color College knowledge, access, opportunity, and readiness.
- Concurrent enrollment programs, critical pedagogy, sociopolitical development theory, critical race theory in education.
- Organization skills, previous experience with project coordination, event planning, administration, or leadership.
- Collaboration with other doctoral students as well as high school teachers and students.
- Previous experience working with high school students - especially for academic writing.
The PRA will be responsible for making sure that requests received regarding this program are responded to timely, accurately, and completely. This position will assist the Associate Professor with special projects, setting agendas, and supporting and setting up meetings with schools and teachers.

Salary Offered or Salary Range
The hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this part-time position has been established at $23,400K
The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS)
- Experience transcribing audio and video tapes
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field
- Experience in education environment
- At least 6 months of experience in formatting manuscripts
- Experience in developing online surveys (e.g. using Qualtrics)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Social skills to communicate with faculty
- Detail-oriented and accurate when working with data.
- Possess a high level of organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with a small staff.
- Self-directed, problem-solver, ability to think proactively and make decisions independently.
- Excellent reading, writing, proofreading and speaking skills.
