The University of Colorado Denver seeks individuals with demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and working environment.  We value the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds

The University of Colorado’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine, located at the Anschutz Medical Campus, is an internationally renowned program that provides comprehensive resources for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the digestive tract, pancreas and liver.  The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is comprised of faculty and staff with nationally recognized contributions in patient care, research, and clinical trials.  Our clinical partner, the University of Colorado Hospital, is one of the U.S. News and World Report’s top hospitals nationwide and UCH Gastroenterology & GI Surgery are one of the top ranked in the United States.  The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is rapidly growing, with clinical practices throughout the state of Colorado and over 80 researchers, physicians and staff, all working toward its vision to prevent and treat gastrointestinal disease while being a global model for patient care delivery, interdisciplinary research, and education.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, access to healthcare has been increasingly difficult, particularly for historically underserved populations including Medicaid.  In an effort to improve access to care, our utilization of telehealth has increased dramatically and in Fiscal Year 2021, 38% of the patient encounters were through the telehealth modality. The UPL Project (Upper Payment Limit) aims to expand the access of gastroenterology related services for Medicaid patients by dedicating resources to underserved populations throughout the state of Colorado. The target population for this project is underserved populations located in Urban, Rural, and Frontier areas throughout the state of Colorado.  As part of this project, we are looking for a professional research assistant (PRA) to serve as a patient navigator to facilitate patient access for clinical care at UCH.
