Position Summary
This position focuses on the care of research participants enrolled in complex clinical trials. These trials include prevention, treatment, and possible cure of potentially fatal diseases, HIV, COVID-19 as well as sexually transmitted diseases. This position is expected to work independently, adhere to all University, Acute/Cure Program, and profession-specific regulations as well as participate in unit-wide activities and exhibit a high degree of accountability for all work. This position may be called upon to participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of new staff. All team members are expected to participate in the Quality Assurance program.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
This position requires a great deal of autonomy coupled with the ability to seek input, oversight when appropriate.
Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with volunteers, patients, families, staff, physicians, and sponsor representatives from diverse backgrounds.
Must be willing and able to adjust to varying work/time demands.
Candidates must have excellent data documentation skills.
Candidates must have the ability to adjust rapidly adjust to priorities in a high-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining patient safety and data quality.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge and experience with clinical research highly preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and Written verbal and written communication highly preferred.
