Purpose 

The Professional Learning Coordinator plans and executes high-quality, end-to-end professional learning and development experiences for OnRamps Instructors to support student success. This position is critical to ensuring OnRamps Professional Learning Systems, design, and facilitation are executed with quality and excellence.


Responsibilities 

  • Coordinates elements required to plan, design, develop, and implement effective professional learning and development experiences using adult learning and design principles to ensure OnRamps Instructors implement OnRamps courses and experiences with fidelity. Maintains the quality and alignment of the high school Instructor experience to promote student learning through college content, innovative pedagogy, technology-enhanced education, and an aligned college experience.

  • Executes effective and consistent communication strategies aligned with OnRamps branding and marketing materials to coordinate the delivery of professional learning experiences with internal and external stakeholders. Provides exceptional customer service and cross-team communication with professionalism, positivity, accuracy, tact, and decorum to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Completes each phase of the annual professional learning and development cycle, including maintenance of Instructor Professional Learning records using established systems while providing solutions for routine functional processes, cross-team reporting, tracking, and monitoring. Recommends enhancements and opportunities for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of systems and processes

  • Applies standard evaluation and data analysis procedures as a part of a continuous improvement process to monitor, evaluate, and document the Instructor user experience and determine needs to meet outcomes that positively impact OnRamps student learning.

  • Supports the Professional Learning Manager and Associate Director of Instructional Innovation and Implementation on special projects as assigned that support the mission and strategic direction of OnRamp as an organization.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Three or more years teaching experience at a high school

  • Passion for professional learning and development

  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS

  • Experience using spreadsheets and formula skills (such as Excel and Smartsheet) to track work with accuracy

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact

  • Strong attention to detail and coordinating logistics

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating professional learning to adults.

  • Experience coordinating Professional Learning Events.

  • Experience using and analyzing data to inform stakeholder needs.

  • Experience providing support or instructional coaching to teachers.

  • Proficient in Smartsheet or other Project Management system.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.

  • Familiarity with basic HTML.

  • Experience with virtual or distance learning.

  • Experience with instructional design.

  • Experience collaborating with subject-matter experts.


Salary

$60,000 + depending on qualifications


Working Conditions

  • Position requires up to 5% travel throughout the state of Texas, ongoing weekend and evening work to support course implementation, including summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and annual enrollment.

  • May work around standard office conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

  • Use of manual dexterity

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
