Position Highlights

Arizona Arts Live is looking for a Production Services Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the production team for Arizona Arts Live and Centennial Hall, including successful fulfillment of show requirements and smooth transitions between shows. The Production Services Manager will also oversee the building maintenance projects and budget.

Hire date anticipated no earlier than 07/01/24.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the production team for Arizona Arts Live and Centennial Hall.
  • Oversees show operations and transitions between shows at Centennial Hall, while staying withing approved budgets.
  • Coordinates with show production representatives or artists to execute terms of contract and makes arrangements for staging, staffing, rental equipment, and special effects.
  • Coordinates and participates in the execution of the setup of the stage, audio, video, and lighting systems; coordinates the design of and/or designs theatrical implementation of said systems.
  • Responsible for the inventory and maintenance of theatrical equipment.
  • Recommends the purchase of new or replacement equipment; orders and obtains materials for production.
  • Directs planning and scheduling of equipment maintenance, including the development, budgeting, implementation, participation, and supervision of a routine maintenance schedule.
  • Performs safety checks on equipment and facilities ensuring safety guidelines are being met.
  • Acts as alternate Centennial Hall building manager.
  • Works with other building managers to prioritize improvements of Centennial Hall and interface with Facilities Management during projects and maintenance.
  • Makes recommendations regarding Centennial Hall safety and emergency procedures and works with relevant University departments when necessary.
  • Reviews proposed contract technical riders and makes recommendations regarding feasibility, schedule, and budget. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of the operations of a performing arts venue.
  • Knowledge of relevant OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA regulations and standards and industry best practices.
  • Team management skills.
  • Skilled in one or more specialties of technical theater.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience, including 1 year supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
