JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Outreach and Online Education (OOE) creative services team is looking for a production/graphic designer. The position is responsible for maintaining visual appearance and efficiently creating engaging and on-brand digital and print marketing collateral to promote our clients’ vision and goals. 
 
Reporting to the Marketing Technology and Operations (MTO) creative services director, the designer will support our partners by collaborating with writers, editors, and marketing strategists to develop eye-catching and effective collateral across a variety of media. The ideal candidate is resourceful and creative, and able to bring new ideas and concepts to the table while maintaining defined brand standards and guidelines.
 
Candidates should share a digital portfolio with their application and meet the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat)

  • Strong understanding of composition, typography, form, color, layout, and image creation/modification 

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a fast-paced, multi-team environment

  • Excellent time management skills to meet strict deadlines on multiple projects at the same time

  • Ability to respond to feedback with a positive attitude

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A basic understanding of how to create accessible designs

  • Knowledge of print production fundamentals

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled as a Professional or Intermediate Professional level depending on the final applicant’s experience and education. The Professional level requires a minimum of an Associate's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions.

While not central to the position, skills in HTML email design, print purchasing, and knowledge of Workfront project management software would be beneficial.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
